Because we closed on our house earlier than expected and we have a longer gap between selling and beginning our French adventure, we’re in this funny “hurry up and wait” time. We’re really happy to be able to share more family time before we start this adventure and are making the most of it. How are we filling our time?
We’re helping our local Northern California family with some things they need help with, like finding a new doctor, getting to appointments, car maintenance, storage unit clean out. All important things to do!
Because we used to live in this area and we became a family here (our kids were all born at the same hospital here), we’re visiting some of our favorite restaurants, driving through our old neighborhoods, and taking literal walks down our memory lanes.
We are continuing to plan our French adventure too. Here’s how we plan to spend our next few months in the Loire Valley:
- Early May – Mid-June: Orléans, France – so many chateaux to see and bike rides to take!
- Mid-June – Mid-July: Angers, France – there are many day trips to take here to explore the area
- Mid-July: Bumblebee Manor – a lovely B&B in a village near Saumur run by some friends
- Late-July – early September: Rennes, France – we plan to visit the amazing Mont Saint Michel island and Saint-Malo while there
- Fall: we hope to find a place to stay longer term to take French language and culture classes, make new friends, and live like locals for a while
